I really like how this custom Hure Crank Desk came out. The finish and proportions are what seem to do it for me. The steel plate top is 84″ x 30″ which is nice for a desk. The tube that connects the bases uses a 2″ Acme screw and nut to secure the bases together. There are no drawers, but this could be an option.
This desk has two 5 ton crank mechanisms which are made in the USA, and overkill for a small desk this size, but they’ll last forever and are serviceable. We also put a crank wheel on both sides so you can adjust the height from 30″ to 42″ on either side.
The steel has a natural finish so you’ll see the natural grain from the mill as well as the welds and grind marks made while fabricating it. We also seal it with 2-3 coats of our commercial clear coat which is made for daily restaurant use and cleaning.
